drilled thermo..

anyone have pics on how to do this yourself? where exactly should i drill and how large of a hole.. i have a 180* thermo from autozone

drilling it will make it take longer to heat up

why would you want to drill it, why not just get a cooler one, or take it out all together.

taking it completely out will make your car take too long to warm out. and he lives in ohio with cold winters so no. drilling the hole will not do too much when it comes to making it take too long for it to heat up. i think on zzp, they have an instruction guide for this.

i was just looking at these at ZZP, i think i would just pay the extra $1 to have them do it, i would imagine they know what they are doing

i have a 180* thermo now i just heard on some places its worth it but since it doesn't seem like it is i will leave it alone..

i drilled my 195F
If it takes a long time to get up to temp (+68F which is closed loop) then you're gonna get bad gas mileage while its cold.
These newer/later engines were designed to run hot.
but I do tuning, so a colder engine = ability to run more timing

i cant decide if i want to get a drilled 160 or drilled 180, either way when winter rolls around i'm gonna put the stocker back in

1/8 hole will let air out block. Will not effect cooling

ya, thats another positive to makeing a small hole, you can bleed the air when the engine is cool so you dont have to wait for it to get up to 160/180/195F
