no luck with cleaning EGR

    no luck with cleaning EGR

    ok so I took the EGR valve apart to try and clean it since everyone said I had a stuck valve. never know how one worked till now. so I cleaned the 3 valves with carb cleaner and a razor blade. put everything back and went for a drive. didn't fix my problem still getting a code after driving highway speed and then let off the gas.:(

    did you clean the passage in the intake also?

      what prob are you having? if the egr isnt working it should not matter

          it would throw a code everytime I would be going down the road and let off the gas to go down a hill.

          I sprayed carb cleaner down the 3 holes in the plate too. sprayed it real good.

          I am considering some beer can block off plates now. gotta keet it there for looks though, to pass inspection.

            did you check the tube itself? there could be a small crack in it somewhere.
