    Re: problem with belt tensioner

dealer installed mine when i bought it, but i think he broke both of those screw on connectors and had to replace them, so you might have broken one of those fittings

my friends and i didnt break anything.we made sure of that. we saw that the part of the tensioner was bigger than the old one. the old one had a rubber bushing on it and the new one only came with o-rings and we put them on.

                      Re: problem with belt tensioner

I had my motor replaced and it was leaking coolant from that area. I took it back and they kept it over the weekend and said they tightened up the leak. They didn't fix anything. I ended up having to replace belt tensioner and saw that it was leaking from black elbow. Wen to get it and autozone, advance, and napa all said dealer item. Just for kicks I went to Pep boys and they had it on the aisle. I replaced it for a couple bucks and all was good. I was home on leave from militay and was messin around about a year later and blew the black elbow up and had no pep boys within a 2 hour drive. I knew somebody who knew somebody who called the owner and had someone come in on a sunday afternoon to give me the elbow so I could leave that night to get back to the military. I was pretty lucky, but point is, those elbows are not all that strong and known to break. I would suggest to spend a lil bit of time and tear it back down and check that elbow.
