  • my engine gets wet

When it rains or when i wash my car the engine gets totally wet, water will be standing on the intake manifold... will be be there till the engine gets hot enough to burn it off. Its coming in from the plastic grill below the windshild. Have anyone else had this problem. What can i do to fix it.

Umm....the engine bay is designed to be wet. There shouldnt be a problem unless ur car is sucking up the water.

Then, my friend, you WILL have a problem.

i just dont think it sould be getting as wet as its getting.. its like if i pop the hood and hose the engine down with gallons of water.

It sounds like you've got a leak somewhere, that's not normal. Check that rubber seal that's at the back of the hood, near the windshield. Maybe it's not sealing. That's about the only place I can think of where water might really get in.

it does sound like some seals are failing but like what has been said before, the engine compartment was designed to be wet.

thanks, it was a seal, looks like at one time someone put a new windshild in. when they did they took all the plastic off and broke the foam seal and didnt bother the put the middle part of in back in. Ill buy some and replace all of it tomorrow, im sure that will do it
