  • Sluggish power

Anyways, I left a post here about failing smog check. I switched out the front two and rear O2 sensors and the SES light is still lit. I don't know what else to check. Switched out the air filter, changed my oil about a month ago along with the filter. Some guy checked out my fuel pump pressure and he said it's good, so now I don't know what to do. Also when I floor my car in 2nd gear around 4000 rpms my car seems to be sluggish, like you can feel a loss of power for a split second then it continues to kick again. So I'm not so sure what to do. Any help will be great. Thank you in advance.

have you ran a scanner to see what the code is that you are tripping?

did you erase the code after replacing the O2 sensors, that is a crucial step to getting rid of the light

...or unplug the battery for 30mins. so that the Ltft/Stft data will be erased and the new o2s can re-learn

Yeah the code is still P01714 and P0174 system too lean on bank one and two. Also, before I switched out the O2 sensors we unplugged the negative and replugged it afterwards.

How do you go about erasing the code? What do I need to get to do that?

that should erase the code, unless it comes back

Yeah, it came back. I drove around for a while because normally when I take it to smog check without driving around for a while, the computer will come back not ready. They would normally tell me to drive it around some more for the computer to restart.

                        Re: Sluggish power

I was also having all these symptoms on my '00 camaro. Slugish power, sometimes rough idleing, and the same OBD codes. I was thinking about doing all those tune ups (O2 sensors and such) but just changed out the fuel filter and had a Fuel system clean (by Midas) and that fixed everything. My fuel pressure was fine and my O2 sensors were fine. If you still have some problems it may just be that your fuel injectors are clogged/dirty.

                          Re: Sluggish power

I use the fuel injector cleaner almost every other oil change. So I really don't think that's the problem. I wish that was the problem. Thanx for that advice.

I also used the fuel system cleaners but they never worked. I did the full fuel system cleaning and it got rid of the OBD codes are have never came back. All the low end "lag" is also gone. You might not get the same experience and may not fix your problem, but it sounded so similar to my situation I thought maybe you can give it a try. But it's up to you:tup: :)
