Ok, allthough I've never seen this done before, I will pass a few things on to you that might get you started in your quest. It is, to my understanding, that the 4.3L V6 is just a 5.7L V8 with two of the cylinder lopped off. 5.7 L / 8 cyl =.7125 L per cylinder. .7125 L per cylinder * 6 cyl = 4.275, or 4.3L v6. I know, sounds kinda crazy, but it works out. I'm almost certain that it is just a 350 with two cylinders cut off. Now, we all know that a 350 fits in the the engine bay, so the 4.3 should as well. I know I'm overlooking something here, but can't put my finger on it. Maybe this post will just get the conversation going.
And, concerning the engine, I don't think I would bother with the 4.3 in your Camaro. The highest I ever saw the HP ratings on them were at 190 in my dad's S-10 with the other option being the 170HP 4.3 . Unless of course you plan to get the Crate 4.3 with 290HP, I'd love to have that one for my car, but for the price, I'd buy an LS1/6 Speed from a wrecked car. They usually run about 3200-3600 used from a wreck. Just some food for though. Anywho, replies.....
