i wonder how much a 427ci weighs, cause thats my dream engine or a stroked 383 would be awesome. But I will probably end up just getting a stock LS1 out of a wrecked 2k2 f-body.

I got a cherry picker/engine lift. But now I dont even think I need it since I'm gonna try to drop the k-member and slide the engine out from underneath.
I could probably just lift the car myself [/superman]

i have a 69 Camaro (350) Stroker 383 , with cast iron heads (4 bolt main) with everything on it (including accesories) its 585lbs (REAL HEAVY) !

this is a stupid question and I'm gonna sound like a nuub but
what is the 4 bolt main? Each head has 10 bolts or 12?

A 4 bolt main block has 4Bolts on the Bottom (BRACKETS THAT HOLD THE CRANK IN) Thus can hold more HP before crank goes flying Heads on a 350 usually have 16 bolts ( 4 would be weak !!!)

I already got my cherry picker & engine stand, but the tranny jack is on its way on a truck.
who needs a tranny jack anyways, its only 110 lbs which I can bench easily ;)

Best way to install a tranny is to jack the car up about 18 inches , then lay on a lil cart ( I call mine Paris ;) since everyone gets to lay on it ..hint hint) place tranny on your chest, push into place and bolt it down , you can do it :P

I would recommend use of a tranny jack , but i have done it before without one , so if ya got the resources to get one go ahead but if you cant u can still install your tranny
