I was driving home from work ,taking off from a stoplight and in first gear, about 17 mph...pop...and car would hardly move!!!!! What happened to it??? It was dark when it happened, I think smoke was coming from the exhaust...not sure what color though...could it be a head gasket...or since I like an idiot I took out my MAF screen, could something have got in there somehow????? Would that cause this problem???If say something of this nature did happen, How difficult is this to repair?? Better yet, how expensive??? I am not going to a dealer with this, they will screw me real good! The ses light started flashing and then stayed on...what is this????????please help me!
Maybe you blew your MAF sensor. If that happens your car is gonna be running very rich and black smoke is going to come out of your exhaust. You should check what color the smoke is. Also check your coolant reservoir with the engine running to see if it looks as if it is boiling which means that you blew a head gasket and compression from the pistons is going through your cooling system.
