    Re: sputtering problems need help!

just an update for people with same problem:
    95 3.4 70,000 miles

    hesitation under acceleration
    high idle
when driving very bad hesitation/misfire not really sure how to describe it, it comes in and out of it
ses light comes on when it starts hesitating and goes off when its not
ses light stays on when idling
quick tap on the gas pedal gives a pop sound under the hood, sounds like it comes from the intake

    recent things I have replaced:
    alternator
    battery
    fuel filter
    plugs and wires
    air filter
    oil and oil filter
ran a bottle of injector cleaner through it

the cheapest place to get it scanned is 30 bucks and the guy is booked for a month thats why I havnt taken it in yet to see what codes its putting out

since I replaced the plugs and wires, if its bad coils or bad fuel injector or stuck fuel injectors would it foul up my new plugs and wires?

also whoever changed the plugs before was an idiot they replaced 5, I found the 6th one was a different brand and was burnt down to almost nothing, they probably didnt want to get there hands dirty and get that one done, only took like 30 minutes to change them out, wasnt bad at all like I was expecting, just took a bunch of different socket extensions

and on the top of the plug where it arches there is black sticky coating on the old plugs and heavy odor of gas is that normal?

        Re: sputtering problems need help!

no autozones here, we only have napa, carquest, and v.i.p and only one of those that tests is v.i.p and if I remember correctly they told me it would cost like 70 bucks...thats why i was just going to wait for the mom and pop shop down the street....

well actually I just did a store locator for autozone and theres one about an hour away so my uncle said he would come put my car on a trailer and drive it up to autozone so I can get it tested that way I can get everything tested for free rather than pay for individual tests for each possible problem

          Problem Fixed

So I hauled my car to autozone today on a trailer the trip was about an 2 and half hours there and back, autozones scanner couldnt read the OBDII for my 95 3.4 so the guy that worked there drove to his house and brought in his own personal scanner (bless his soul),

and the scanner not sure what codes, but it came up twice as the throttle position sensor, so paid 38 bucks for a new one, it took less than 5 minutes to replace it and the car now runs better than when I bought it 3 years ago, no more rodeo jerking!

now its time to sell it $3200 if anyones interested and go get that SS Ive been saving pennies for...

          thanks for your help guys
