  • drop k-member to take motor out via underneath

Anyone know which bolts I need to take off to remove my K-member so I can pull the engine out from underneath the car?

I'm sure no one knows so I might take the engine out the regular way which is *supposedly* harder to do but I dont care. Thats the only way I've done it before.
    thanks

the Haynes says that """"you cant drop the k-member and pull the engine out from underneath the vehicle because a home mechanic has no safe way to raise the vehicle High Enough to utilize this method of removal.""""

Couldnt I just hook up my engine hoist/cherry picker/engine lift to the frame of the vehicle to raise the vehicle? is that not safe? Could my 2-ton engine lift not get my car "High Enough"? I cant see why this method is refered to as Unsafe. The Haynes says the only safe way is to have a garage-type lift which I have not. I wish I could trade it in for a Chilton's.

do you have a garage? hook up a pully system to the top of it to lift the frame.
