    Re: starter question

    probably $250 or so?

my class mate had a starter problem but the mechanic he got towed to, i think he knew him, fixed it for 70 bucks instead.

plus an auto shop teacher i had said usually the only thing that goes bad on a starter is the points, whatever that is, which can be replaced for not much

      some starters are NON-servicable.
Oreillys has starters for like $110?
Its only 2 freaking bolts that are easy to get to come on. Dont take
it to a shop to get them to do it. It takes like 15 minutes, but you'll need an extension.

Is the engine cranking or is the starter cutting on/off when the key is turned?

Not sure if you are aware or not, but if the engine is cranking at a normal speed, the starter should be fine. Just checking though...

reccently when ive turned the key it makes that "click" noise when the engine is trying to fire up but it keeps making that noise instead of firing up so i turn the key back and try it again and it fires up. also it has been taking a longer amount of time to fire up so its clicking for logner periods of time. also today when i went to fire it up it started clicking paused (made no real noise) the suddenly i herd it fire up. so thats why im guessing its that ill take any suggestions.

not sure what system your talking about the car is basically stock so if it was a aftermarket thing then no.
