  • Odd sound when starting the car.

When I start my car now, it occasionaily makes an odd grinding noise, its kind of hard to describe. It just recently got cold out, and my camaro (previous owner had it garage kept) has never been exposed to below freezing temperatures. I would replace the starter, except it has zero trouples turning over. A quick flip of the key and its running like a champ, never failed to start, or even take a second attempt.

Could the cold just cause it to make this noise?

I think it's probably the starter. Just because the starter fires up right away, doesn't mean it's disengaging correctly.
It sounds to me like after your car starts, the starter isn't disengaging from the flywheel, hence the grinding sound. Probably want to fix it soon before you damage any of the teeth on the flywheel.
