Does anyone know if a Jet Chip stage 2 for an 2000 3.8 M5 will work with a 96 M5?

The 2000 chip will not work with a 96 since the programming is different between the years of the car. Well, I checked superchips.com they do not have them, Jetchips do not make any for the 96 and hypertech also, does not make one. Sorry. :( You will probably have to go the custom route. I do suggest that you do other mods before getting a chip though. fix your intake(cold air intake),exhaust(headers, high flow cat, low restriction muffler), and a lower thermostat(found that the chips works way better with cooler engine temperatures), plus a manual fan switch. After doing this, then I would recommend the chip. Just matters on how far you are going to go with upgrading your car. If you plan on putting a supercharger on it. Then you may want to wait. Cause if you get the chip made then get a supercharger, the chip will more than likely be useless, and you'll have to sell it, and have another one made after the supercharger is installed(like me, I have the jet chip stage 2, later on this year when I get a supercharger, then I'm going to have to sell it, and have Jet Chips custom make me another chip, not really a waste of money since I've had it for over 2 years now). I hope, I'm making since. It's getting late. ;)

I figured I would have to go custom. Which is probably better anyways, since I'm in the planning stages of a turbo project for my car. Thanks for the info though.
