Re: how to remove drivebelt?
the drivebelt??
i think what you mean is the serpentine belt. its the belt that connects all your components like A/c, power steering, water pump, etc. its the one big belt you see when you open your hood (assuming you have a 98+) im not sure what care you have though. but its the big belt. if you have more than one somethings not right lol. most people only take it off for track runs to free up some power that it takes from your engine to run the components i listed above. but dont have it off long, because your car will overheart extremely fast without it on. just be careful.Dave:

Re: how to remove drivebelt?
you take it off by putting a 5/8" socket on the belt tensioner and pushing down. its real easy
I dont suggest removing your belt to race because if your engine is too cold then thats bad for it and you'll get bad gas mileage. But if you race it while its hott your definately gonna overheat it and that would be some costly repairs2k2 camaro, K&N, SLP whisper lid, Konis, AEM, HP Tuners, Angel eyes/Halos, CF SS ram air hood, 4.10s, Zexel Torsen, UMI SFCs, CrossFire, BFGs, Gatorback, Catco, Flows, and TLC! Re: how to remove drivebelt?
Its simple to remove. Just take the tension off of the tensioner lol
This is not a free mod though. Technically it is, but if you drive around without a belt on for any long (medium for that matter) distance your car is gonna be ****ed up. Without the belt, theres no water pump, alternator, etc. So it'll be running off the battery only with no heat extractionBlack \'94 Trans Am A4- SLP CAI & Loudmouth
Red \'93 Firebird A4- Ram Air under the WS6 hood, !cat, exhaust.

Re: how to remove drivebelt?
most people who pull their belt have an electric water pump, which cools the car with out using the belt, so they can just run the car off the battery, you probably can't go more than a half mile like that thoughK&N air filter, Whisper air lid, magnaflow LT1 cat back, and magnaflow high flow cat, pacesetter headers, silverstars

more to come soon
but for now im out of money

you would be surprised.
on a good (healthy) battery, you could probably drive your car for a day.
I heard of someone driving home 5 hours on the highway with an optima battery.
Now if the battery is old, and potentially bad, yea, your not going to get anywhere.

just stating the obvious that everybody knows: the alt will be disconnected, so the battery will not be recharged.2k2 camaro, K&N, SLP whisper lid, Konis, AEM, HP Tuners, Angel eyes/Halos, CF SS ram air hood, 4.10s, Zexel Torsen, UMI SFCs, CrossFire, BFGs, Gatorback, Catco, Flows, and TLC!
