    whats the big difference between 7.5mm plug wires and 8.5 and also will msd coil pakcs make a big difference in a stock engine??

    they are 1mm bigger. thats the difference.

    from what i have heard changing coil packs really makes no difference... but dont quote me on it.

    If i were you, i would just get 8mm plug wires... they are usually the standard

      the only difference is less resistance, so better performance. no, you really will not notice any difference replacing the coil packs.

        I got some 8mm Taylor's for about 40 bucks from Summit. They made a big difference in my gas mileage. I would consider those if I were you.

          The difference is that the jacket or the insulation is 1mm thicker on 8.5mm wires. Now, if what you really want to ask is, "What is the difference between the MSD 8.5mm wire and the stock 7.5?" then the answer is: if it's MSD 8.5 Helicore, the difference is a slightly more robust wire construction and thicker insulation. If you mean the MSD 8.5 Super Conductors, they not only are a more robust design but they have significantly less resistance per unit length than stock wires.

          MSD coils will make no change in performance on a stock engine.
