Never jump to such a conclusion.. my car had 55,000 miles on it and, although it was well-maintained, it spun a bearing..

how did you spin a bearing? was there any extra damage caused by it?

We narrowed the reason of why it spun down to this:

The typical Camaro's intake manifold gasket goes bad story.. Mine went bad around 45,000 miles and we replaced it no problem. Well, after calling around to a bunch of shops, many technicians were thinking some coolant could've gotten into the oil without us noticing and causing the bearing to seize up.

So, yeah.. we bought a new crank, main bearings, crank bearings, cam bearings (just in case), piston rings, #1 connecting rod, and everything else for the job..

            ..
yes, it does it when you do lower plenum gaskets, however oil should turn murky very quick.(so you could see there is something wrong) You just have to do the oil at the same time and you would be fine.
