  • What to do with $500... please advise!!

    okay,
im looking for one or 2 more mods for before the winter, i was originally thinkin torque conv. but im gettin the impression that the only good one is the PI that costs like $700, then im hearing cam talk, can i get that for under $500 and should i? and im pretty sure the heads are too much, i dont have the maft or whatever, maybe that with the ram air kit? (can i use the ram air with the lid??), anyways please advise me on this, i have 5 crisp hundreds in my hand and if i wait too much longer they'll get spent on unimportant crap!! oh, and i was gonna get that b&m shift improver too.

Don't get b&m shift improver, waste of money that can damage your car.

Torque converter for 500 is a real stretch, but a good mod

A transmission cooler would be a good investment for your tranny

Maft+ & Autotap or OBDII Software is good

    Aluminum Driveshaft

    Lower Control Arms (better traction)

These are some good suggestions. I put some BMR LCA's on my car and it was like night and day difference. I absolutely love that mod. If I were you I would look around for some LCA's. I bought mine for 75 used. Also look for a alum. driveshaft (got mine for 100, but you'll probably find 150 is avg.) Then maybe go for some subframe connectors and a CAI if you don't already have one. That should put you at around 500.

thanks for the replies, im really looking for speed, so the control arms arent really appealing to me, and i was hopin for a part # on a good cam or something, maybe that with the maft+ ? how much do you need to know to do the tuning on that?

i do have the 342's, (i got the y87), so im lookin for something that will help me with just power, top end especially since my car loses alot when i get to third, but i can hang with alot of people till then, so thats why i was thinkin a cam, wouldnt that help my top end, also i wanted something that would go well with the nos.
