Ya if your egr is stuck you will get very severe vacuum problems. They can cause serious issues. I would just take it out also. But start the work step by step here.

well here's what all happened I couldn't find the site here cuz my computer got a virus.... But anyways. Guy says the egr valve is bad, diagonstics said it only had a 18%vacuum when it should have been at 100% so we replaced that....Apparently he was test driving it and the catalitic converter broke....Crap. So they replaced that too...Car runs just like new! Other than it seems a little (just a smidge) slower. Maybe it has something to do with that converter they put an aftermarket on instead of a dealer part and saved me 300 bucks so I'm fine with that....
