  • A response to the difference between a 93 & 94 Z28

I saw that the topic was closed and wanted to clarify that there IS a difference....

the 93 has a speed density sensor which makes tuning them so much harder. The PCM cannot adjust for A/F changes....

The 94 has a MAF which makes life a whole lot easier to tune since THE PCM can regulate and adjust to modest changes in A/F

    Also the trans are different......

wow moderators are spreading bad info and then locking threads with the bad info in them... thats no good...at least i'm man enough to admint when i'm wrong - navyblue

the speed density thing is correct, i dont know about the transmissions

also the gauges, and buttons on the 93 cars were grey with yellow lettering and the 94 + cars had black with white letters

            wow...my bad guys

Thanks though for you all who thought I was perfect... I mean, one error (about a v8 on a v6 board to boot!) in 2.5 years of moderating...boy you guys sure know how to show appreciation!

the 93's actually had the 700R4 transmission, not the 4L60.

            hmm, now some useless facts...

            you couldn't get a convertible in 93.
the LT1's went for under 18k new with few options

In 93 they transistioned from the 700r4 to the 4L60 so depending on what month your car was built you could get either one.....

The 4L60 and 700R4 are the same transmission (different name), the 4L60-E is where the difference comes in, since it is electronically controlled instead of hydraulically.
