I was wondering the specs of the steel air flow box that mounts their yonder... the length, thickness, and how many kinks/angles are in it.
do you have to take out that little flap below the air box to fit that metal box in?
does the air box sit directly up with the air lid or does it sit flush below it leaving a space along the lid, or what? im confused how you guys hooked this thing up.

i am not sure exactly what your trying to ask but i'll try to help. It has been a couple months so i am working from a very bad memeory.
Yes you have to take out the plastic air deflector. You have to cut a rectangle in it that the cai metal box will slide thru. The metal box slides down in between the plastic deflector and the radiator piece. When the top flat piece is placed flat under the air filter tray the bottom part is pointed down and to the front. An image is on http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/715757/2
. That is what it looks like before the filter is put in.
I dont know about the air box, i took mine out and put in a whisper lid.
Ummm... the dimensions are like a 1 foot wide by 11/2" high rectangle. If you take off your tray and filter and lid you'll see about how big it will be. It leaves a small gap on either side.
It goes all the way down and stops just above the hood brace or whatever the y shaped thing is.
I also have an extension which comes up from the underside and (using an opening)goes around the brace screwing onto the bottom of the metal box. Then it screws to the underside of your bumper.
To sum it up yes you do have to take the deflector off to cut it. You also cut the filter tray. (you dont really have to put the deflector back on, but its up to you)
