• front license plate question

I figured the lounge was the best place for this, gota a question for all you who have a front license plate on a 98+ firebird. First off how do you get the stock firebird cover off?
Second, once you get it off are the screw holes already there to mount a license plate. Reason i ask is that I currently live in Louisiana which doesn't have front plates but will be moving to Texas within the next 6-8months and was curious.

Actually Brad, this is a good General Tech question. So I'm going to shuffle this over there.

I havent removed it either. It looks like you just have to start removing the nose. I did not see anything in owners manual to tell how either. Maybe a dealership will know...

Good question. I am also surprised that this has not shown up in searches as already being discussed. I don't want to find out the hard way that it is not push pins holding the plate on.

hmm I have tried popping it out it seems to slide out on the top pretty easily but remains attached at the bottom, I guess so long as there is no bracket needed I can get the cover off one way or another when the time comes.

I plan on running my front plate all the time just to avoid having to deal with a po po having a bad day. I think it looks like crap but oah well when the time comes no biggie.

thanks for the responses

there are 2 screws at the bottom of the plate, they are little star screws. remove those first, then it should come out pretty easily
