wow, my car is running like a pile of ***

well i was driving earlier today, no problems, but i get in to go to work, turn the key, and the whole car is shaking like a cheap motel bed, then i get an ses light, my parking lights are on (without being turned on) the right turnsignal indicator is on, and after a while the ses light starts to flash (misfire?) i'm thinking that it is probably the BCM, but i dont really know, any ideas?

sounds like when my coil blew, take it to autozone see if its a single cyl. misfire
if it is, replace that coil. if you want to make sure its not the injector before you swap the coil, run some injector cleaner.

if its a single cylinder misfire it won't be a coil. the coil provides spark for 2 cylinders. I would replace the plugs and wires. thats the problem 90% of the time for misfires.

well, take it to murrays or w/e and get it scanned. try not to drive it around with a flashign ses light (yes, that means its misfiring). once you got it scanned, then u you'll have a much better idea of what's goin on. and you can make a good diagnosis. right now, it could be dozens of things...

that would explain misfire, but not the parking lights, and just random lights that are on

That is false, my brothers firebird had a misfire on one cyl. and we changed the wires and plugs on everything figuring it was all in need of updating. Get all done and still a misfire on the one cylinder. Throw on a new coil pack for that cylinder and it worked like new again.

Same problem I had...Burnt plug wire boot on cylinder 3..It was arcing causing similar issues your having. Except your lights dont know bout that one.....I had the SES light coming and going though

Mine was a cyl 5 misfire, it was the coil.. Doesnt have to be both cylinders.

not a coil pack, just replaced all 3 (1 at a time) with a known working one from my mom's grand prix, i roughly looked at the wires and did not see or feel anything :(

well i got the misfire to go away, i have a strong strong feeling that it was the fuel injector in cylinder 1, i was just pulling a wire at a time to see which one didnt make a damn bit of difference, and it was cyl1, and i was getting spark all the way to the plug, so i left the plug out and ran it, no fuel came out, whatsoever, so that led me to believe injector, i considered taking it out, and got it mostly out and got cold feet, but i moved it around, tightened up all the bolts, and fired her up, no misfire, from what i can tell at all, ses light is still on, the parking lights ended up turning off shortly after the misfire went away, i'm gonna take it in monday and get it scanned and maybe get the injectors cleaned, but she seems to be running for now :)

OK, well i got the code read, misfire in cylinder 6, not cylinder 1 like i thought :( but the misfire is gone, maybe when i was fooling with the fuel rail i did something, i dont know, i should have left the codes so the tech2 could read the freze frame, you can go ahead and smack me now blldogg, it could be a burnt wire i suppose, i cant get all the way back there, i dont have ramps
