  • Jet PCM stage 1 or 2??

    I have a 2000 3.8 Firebird with dual exhaust and a K&N filter.

Does this qualify me for a stage 2 jet chip?

Or do I have to get the stage 1?

Also with this modification and keeping my same driving habits will it hurt fuel econony?

Or should I go with a programmer?

From those who have tried it is it worth it?

I just intalled my Hurst plus shifter Lou short stick combo today and loved it.

    Getting addicted want more fun:banana:

I'd go with texas speed tune, or get a programmer but they get pricey...

any more modding than intake and exhaust you are going to want more than a stage 2. Stage 2 is alright for cars that are sticking to intake and exhaust, but any more modding and a tsp mail order tune will be cheaper and better for you.

If I go stage 2 do I need to change out the T-stat to a 160?

        Need to run premium?

What is the Texas speed tune?

I got the Hypertech Power Programmer III the other week, and I am pleased with it. I noticed more on the high end of RPM's then I did before. The only mod's I currently have is a K&N and smooth air bellow. Going to be doing an exhaust soon, and getting the 180 drilled thermo in a day or so. I loved being able to change the shift firmness, it sure put more kick in the gear changes. I just re-did the temps today, for when I get the thermo, but I didn't get to go for a long drive to see if it will kick the fans on and lower it lower yet.
