so the rev limiter kicks in at about 114 in fourth at near redline and at about 118-119 in fifth at a lower rpm. does this mean the more performance mods i install the higher the limiter will be. it seems it would be this way.

Re: a good question
nope. your speed limiter hits at 118mph. so unless you do something to your computer to adjust or remove that limitation, you are confined to that point.

Re: a good question
well, when you hit your rev limiter in 4th, that stopped your ability to continue producing more power and speed. but, when you got into fifth, your gearing reduced, slowing the engine, allowing you to continue making power and speed. the catch is that when you hit 118, you didnt hit the rev limiter nor did you hit your peak power production, you just reached a limit programed into your computer proventing you from going any faster in speed. this speed is set due to factors like tire rating and such. so, no matter how much more power you produce, you will not go past 118ish without some computer modifications. did i explain that good enough?

Re: a good question
you would have to buy a hypertech, or some other power chip type thing, get some type of tuning software or mail-in tune. I dont know of anywhere other than those options to have it fixed.
