  • what should my first mod be?

Ive had my 2001 Firebird 3.8L V6 for 2 months and now she is ready for some mods. What are some recommended mods i should start up with and in what order i should do them in and how much is it going to cost? Thanks guys!

intake and exhaust should always be the first mods. for the 3.8 the Free ram air mod is popular and there is also a few different cold air kits. id say buy a whisper lid and get a nice catback. not sure on the exact cost of the whisper lid but the exhaust will vary depending on what you go with. check the sticky up top and take a look at different catbacks i posted. pick one you like and go from there. best bang for you buck IMO is the Texas speed rumbler catback @ 200 bucks + cost of what ever tips you put on there.

exhaust first, i love my flowmaster. then you would want to do your intake. slp are good for our cars. then sick a whisper lid and k&n air filter.

        that is good start

Intake/exhaust are always good first mods.

If it's a M5 a short shifter is a good first mod too. After that, I would say gears and LSD, if you don't have one, or LCA and sub frame connectors if you want to improve the problems with the stock suspension.

I just got a rate from Meineke for a flowmaster catback system like 2 days ago. $325 installed. Which I don't think is all that bad. I was thinking $400 with labor and all.

                Are magnaflows more expensive?

yes but not by much IIRC. magnaflow is a very nice catback.

When you said $325 im assuming that covers the cost of the actual flowmasters? How much am i thinking with magnaflows installed? Can you get them and installed at a place or do u need to buy them first? thanks
