Does anyone out there know of or can recommend a code reader or scanner for a 1998 V6 camaro? I have checked the OBDII compitability list and this particular year/model is not included so i do not want to purchase a reader that i cannot return if it does not work. Thanks for your input!

Re: code reader/scanner 1998 camaro V6
I just bought one yesterday at pepboys for 229.00. Its an Actron Super Scanner. Its not bad, but my I like my old AutoXray a lot better. The one positive thing about buying from Pep Boys is that you can return it if you dont like it; just say that it didnt work in your car.

i love my Actron Super Scanner. tells you lots of info about your car, rpm, engine temp, tps%, hp%, mph, o2 info, and lots of other stuff i cant think of. and can also be used on obd1 if you buy the cable.<a href=\"http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2245261\" target=\"_blank\">http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2245261</a> Green 1997, 105k, all stock except for Z28 front springs, Air shocks in the rear, home made coolant recovery tank, home made battery hold down.

I think there is an obd2 at Harbor Freight for like $35? Good thing to have. I used to go to autozone before I got my HpTunerz package.2k2 camaro, K&N, SLP whisper lid, Konis, AEM, HP Tuners, Angel eyes/Halos, CF SS ram air hood, 4.10s, Zexel Torsen, UMI SFCs, CrossFire, BFGs, Gatorback, Catco, Flows, and TLC! Re: code reader/scanner 1998 camaro V6
I use an Equus Innova 3100 C. It it just a code scanner (not a real time monitor like the more expensive Actron Super Scanner). It cost $100. One advantage of this model is that it has the capability to read Freeze Frame Data; most of the cheap (less than $100) units will not read Freeze Frame Data.
BTW ... your car is a 98, therefore it is OBD-2 compliant.<b>1996 Camaro 3.8 L, A4</b><br />bone stock
