i had a leak..which i fixed..it was just an o-ring..so with the car running and the A/C set to MAX cool i refilled the system and let it run for a while..still no cold air..the lower pipe gets pretty cold..but the condensor doesnt at all..it stays pretty warm..is my condensor dead?..if so..about how much do they cost?..really need help..thanks
EDIT -- im not sure its the condensor..whatever that silver canister is..it usually gets really cold with condensation all over it but it stays pretty warm

CRAP..its not the compressor...i went outside and let the car run..i turned the A/C on and off..each time it did that i could hear the compressor turn on and off..it also jolted the accumilator a little..which still doesnt get cold at all..what should i look at next???
the last and only other thing i noticed is that when the compressor is on the pressure is around 45 psi..but when i shut it off the pressure jumps to and holds at 65 psi
45 psi on the suction line for 134a is great, and the car should be cooling. its normal for the pressure to go up when the car is off because the high and low sides equalize. Your not doing something right, did you put the right type of freon into the car? Did you remove the air from the freon lines with a vacuum pump when you replaced that oring?

i didnt remove the air with a vacuum pump..but i had to recharge the system once when i accidentally removed one of the nuts on a hose to the accumilator..i just recharged it and that was that..i dont get this..
could something be wrong with the accumilator?..because the compressor and condensor seem to be working..but the accumilator and both hoses running to it never get cold..they just get warm with the engine heat
your going to have to blow the freon, and pull a good vacuum, then recharge the system. Make sure your using pure 134 freon, a lot of those little cans your buy contain mostly leak sealent and/or oil. Make sure the cans your using dont say anying about oil or sealent or conditioner. If you dont have the right tools, take it to a shop. You see, if you dont pull a vacuum, you live air in the freon lines, as we know air contains, oxygen, co2, water, etc. With these other elements it changes the chemical compound that makes up the freon.

well i just got back from advanced auto..from everything i described they said its either some sort of blockage or the system is filled with too much air and oil because i used that crappy stuff with oil and sealant instead of just pure refrigerant..which seems to be the case..i shut it off and the pressure sky rockets and nothing is making it to the accumilator at all..also i did not hold the can upside down which filled it with even more air..so i bled both the high and low pressure sides and nothing came out but air and some oil..now i have to take it to have the entire system vacuumed completely out and then comlpetely recharged..bastards
