stock rev limiter is 5900, you only raised it 100 RPMs...i can tell you never race, if you do and dont turn over 5000 your leaving ET on the table...

Ummm, yes, I do race. And if I rev it that high, I would just spin like crazy and my rear end would go all over the place. When I drag race, I usually rev it to 4000 or 4500rpm at most, and even then I spin like crazy. I need to do some work on the suspension before I decide to rev it that high and drop the clutch. Because all I would be doing right now is hurt my ET even worse, with me spinning like hell when pulling out at anything over 4500rpms. After I upgrade the suspension, then yes I'll be happy to rev it at 5500 to 6000 and drop the clucth.

Does anyone have this for the 3.4, and if so whats the review. Second, after the initial purchase, you can get upgrades for only $45, is that how it works?

im not talking about dropping the clutch that high, im talking about turning the motor that many RPM's on shifts....and the rev limiter is 5900 on M-5's and A4's....

I did not know the stock was 5900rpms. I guess it's where I've had that Jet Chip in there about ever since I've had my Camaro. As for that kinda rev limit, I usually shift right at 5200 to 5400rpms. that is right before the power band just drops. I need to get me a dyno and see where my power band drops now after all my current mods. I figured 6000rpms is plenty for my current mods and stock internals. I'll raise it higher when I get the power band not to drop before then. I guess I really need to get that dyno done to see where it currently is. :D

I know on a stock V6 the HP band hits it's highest at 5200rpms and then pretty much just drops straight down.

when you say PCM are you talking about the IBCM behind the glove box.

if you are, teh 96 and 97s are different. I have a 96 and my IBCM is committing suicide and ticking like crazy. I would love to continue my replacing of stock parts with performance parts. hope they make them for 96s soon. i want to buy one before my dies. $45 s&h whats that mean. I pay an extra 45 and for life they will upgrade it how I want?
