Every time I go to the local Chinese Restaurant or an steeply paved roadway I have to listen to this gut wrenching SCRAAAAPE. The cat catcher (aka metal strip below the front of my car) scraps across the pavement and makes me crindge. Is there a way to just take that thing off and will I some day do myself great harm because I took it off? Any help would be great, I am really sick of hearing that sound. It's not metal, its plastic. You can shave it down or take it out, but I wouldnt- it directs cold air up. Just turn onto the driveways at a bit of an angle.

you REeeeeeeeeeeeally don't want to take that off. It creates the airflow to cool your motor, and without it you'll likely overheat like a mofo. However, some guys have cut slits in it or sides of it off for brake ducting, PSCooler airflow, and intakes.
