Is there a way to bypass this? My security light comes on and today it wouldn't start. It just sat there while I was trying to start my car and the security light flashed. Didn't crank, didn't do anything but sit there and flash.

First off, you double posted. Second of all, I honestly hope no one responds to this. Why would we want to post information on how you can steal our cars on a public forum? :twak:

Oh and also...what makes you so sure it's your VATS resistor?

I suppose if anyone knows how to bypass it it's the car theives. One I figure it's the vats cause the security light has been coming on intermittently and today all it would do is start. The light stayed on. I left and walked back to the bank the light was out and it started.

you are gonna need a new key with the chip in it. Do you have a spare key for it?

use an ohm meter, get the resistance of the chip, then get that size resister from radio shack, etc. Connect the two wires to the resister from the ignition. then you will no longer need the key with the chip in it.
