• Ses codes, car slipping

Ok, I have been having an issue with my 95 3.4.

When I stomp on the gas or accelerate fast the car doesn't want to shift. If I let off the gas slightly it shifts, then I can repress on the gas to begin accelerating again. If I don't let off the gas it just revs higher and higher accelerating slowly.

At any rate I have had this obnoxious rattle in my exhaust as well. I believe the rattle is comming from the inside of the CAT. Yeah I am sure it's not the heat shield, and I believe the rattle is getting worse. I don't know if the rattle is related to the above problem or not, however tonight my car finally kicked up an SES light.

Now my question is how do I retrieve the darn code. It is a 16 pin connector, and my haynes manual only shows me how to jump a 12 pin connector. Can I jump the terminal on a 95 3.4 or does it have to go in?

Haynes says to jump A and B

(No The A and B Do Not Work) ;)

Thanks for any help, and if you have any ideas as to what the shifting problem is please feel free to let me in on the secret.

Upon inspecting under me hood I found that the PCV valve is torn. Couls this account for a significant loss in power, and/or odd shift times. Again thanks for any input.

The ses probably is showing a lean cond. on both banks, because of the pcv leak. The link on your car,I believe is whats called an OBD2 manufacturers specific .It was on some GM products (allF-bodys) from '94-'95.I have an auto x ray scanner that has that interface cable, looks exactly like your diagram.I think ,to my knowledge, you may need a equivilent scanner to read the ses codes, unless someone knows how to retrieve them without one? Good luck with the pcv repair ,I hope it cures your cars ills.
