weird battery dead.

Well we were at a band show tonight (me and my girl) and afterwards we went to wafflehouse (dont ask) to eat. I parked my car and then when we were done i came back out and it wouldnt start. all my lights were going crazy and my radio wasnt turning on.

So i had my step dad come out in his Z to boost me off.. and when i tried to start it then it made 1000000 clicky noises.

Eventually we deicded to just go get a new battery, and after we put it in it worked and my car started like normal..

The question is, why would my battery just die like that? I left nothing on while we were inside. just aging?

Did you notice anything wierd before it died? Lights dimming, stereo turning off etc. Signs of an alternator going bad. Or a short?

could be the alternator. or the battery could just have a dead cell. but if it was the alt. you would hear it.

current car- 95 Trans am- bolt ons, parked and collecting dust. why? because **** it

isnt the alternator, works fine with new battery.
