OMG!!! Didn't something ring off in your head when they kept calling and adding things on the list of what is wrong?? How can all those things need replacing all at once?? Was it in that bad of a shape when you brought it in???
I just replaced my rear main seal today, and my hips, head and shoulders are hurting from the concrete!!! I also replaced the gasket that goes over the plate that goes over the rear main seal. It was a PITA to scrape it all off but I did it. While I was at it I replaced the clutch, pressure plate, throw-out bearing and pilot bushing. Cost me a total of 220 bucks. Compare that to the dealers $500+ for JUST the rear main. Who knows how much more they would've added for the gasket and the clutch. Prolly $1000????

well, i prolly shoulda mentioned this earlier but oh well. no not all of the injectors are bad. but he said it would be a good idea to replace them all just to be safe. because this car has had all those problems ever since i bought it. obviously the people who owned it before me were not very good at taking care of their cars. so i'm the one who got stuck with fixing it. I shoulda known this was gonna happen too, because the day after i bought this car, we had to replace the water pump. How retarded is that?

Can't they do some sort of testing on the individual injectors to see if they're good or not? To just replace parts hoping for the problem to be fixed is a waste of money and time. You should at least get another shop to tell you what they think, get a second opinion.

hmmm....Horrible Acceleration.
........Misfires out the wazooo.
Sounds and feels like the car was literally shaking apart. I had no acceleration.
Okay, what mechanic said(i talked to dad again just to make sure what i was saying was true.)
Mechanic said....FPR was running at 39-41 lbs of pressure. He said it is supposed to run a minimum of 42lbs.
Mechanic also said...2 of the Injectors were bad. Needed to replace them. Mechanic drove it for a 1/4mile and the number 2 cylider misfired 297 times. the number 6 misfired 3 times. He said that the two of them needed replaced. dad's suggestion was that we replace all of the injectors, because invariably on down the road the others will go bad too.
Mechainic also said...the cat was bad because of all the sparks from the misfires going thru the exhaust to the cat. thus burning up the cat. from what dad said the muffler isn't bad. just the cat.
Mechanic also said....the number 6 plug wire was laying on the intake manifold and was arcing to the manifold. therefore i need new plug wires.
I think that is all that was wrong with it.
But yeah, the injectors were 69 bucks each from o'reilly and we aren't gonna let the mechanic do the cat, becuase a muffler shop can do it alot cheaper and i want to get a catco hi-flow cat anyway.
Magnus, there ya go, sorry I didn't post what the problems were earlier. not sure if that answers your question or not.
me happy now because car be back today!!!!
