is there any possible way to get anywhere close to 300 horses on a 3.8l without using superchargers,tubers, or nos????

I would think with CAI, cat-back exhaust, ZZP or Abott stage 3 heads, Comp VS cam, 11.0:1 compression, p&p upper and lower intakes, p&p throttle body, headers and tune you would be damn close to 300 at the crank. But that is a ton of $$.sigpic

this thread is only 4 years old. it is a newborn infant compared to our aging fbodies.
yes this would cost a ton of money.
the intimidator pushed 297hp without forced induction, i'm thinking something similar can be done with a camaro 3800 motor with a cam and forged pistons with a serious bump in compression ratio. i was wondering if anyone came close to 13:1 on this board.
i'm more interested in quantifying the exorbitant cost of getting that 13:1 compression ratio and making it streetable.Last edited by BobDoLe; 10-22-2006, 02:18 AM.

It would be nice if they just sold the crank by itself, I didn't see that listed. We've already got those rods and I'd like a little more selection over pistons than someone just throwing some in a kit and saying here ya go. Nice to lose that 2lbs of rotating mass though.Let's flip a coin. Heads I get tail, Tails I get head.

True, I was going to stick with N/A and maybe a small shot of nitrous. I sent them an email and got a reply back that they do not sell the crank by itself only in a kit. I also asked if we could send them a spare crank to work and send back and they said no.Let's flip a coin. Heads I get tail, Tails I get head.
