    is there any possible way to get anywhere close to 300 horses on a 3.8l without using superchargers,tubers, or nos????

        is taht 297 at the wheels or crank? that is ls1 territory

              I would think with CAI, cat-back exhaust, ZZP or Abott stage 3 heads, Comp VS cam, 11.0:1 compression, p&p upper and lower intakes, p&p throttle body, headers and tune you would be damn close to 300 at the crank. But that is a ton of $$.

                  this thread is only 4 years old. it is a newborn infant compared to our aging fbodies.

                  yes this would cost a ton of money.
                  the intimidator pushed 297hp without forced induction, i'm thinking something similar can be done with a camaro 3800 motor with a cam and forged pistons with a serious bump in compression ratio. i was wondering if anyone came close to 13:1 on this board.

                  i'm more interested in quantifying the exorbitant cost of getting that 13:1 compression ratio and making it streetable.

                      dont forget about ZZP's stroker kit, that would definetly be a big boost to help you get to 300. I think it would be awesome if someone did this, it'd be totally unique

                        It would be nice if they just sold the crank by itself, I didn't see that listed. We've already got those rods and I'd like a little more selection over pistons than someone just throwing some in a kit and saying here ya go. Nice to lose that 2lbs of rotating mass though.

                          Ya, but if you're like me and what to go pretty high N/A, then add on some forced induction, then that stroker's not the way to go. Since everything's lightweight, it's also easily breakable.

                            True, I was going to stick with N/A and maybe a small shot of nitrous. I sent them an email and got a reply back that they do not sell the crank by itself only in a kit. I also asked if we could send them a spare crank to work and send back and they said no.
