    Re: horsepower...

    It seemed like it to me too. .2 of a liter isn't going to be that substantial on a N/A motor. The biggest appeal I saw in the crank was losing a couple pounds of rotating mass. I guess if I take mine to a good machine shop they could probably balance it and what's it called knife edge it to take a few punds off.

      the zzp stroker kit seems like a lot of labor for 9% increase in hp...
      it only bumps the compression ratio from 9.4:1 to 10.2:1

        Re: horsepower...

        this is nuts.. for the 297hp 3800 motor;
        Bore: 97.03mm
        Stroke: 86.36mm

        Stock 3800 motor:

        Bore: 96.52mm
        Stroke: 86.36

        So where's all the higher compression coming from?
        Domed pistons and seriously milled heads? Any ideas?

          That's about a .020 bore and he probably has had the head and deck milled pretty good along with a flat top piston to get the compression up there.
