Will I need to lift the car or put it up on ramps to get to all the plugs? Are there any good tricks to changing them out because It seems like it will be difficult considering how far back the engine is.

Re: Doing plugs tomorrow
set aside a bunch of time and some bandaids... odds are you'll get some bloodly knuckles. just do them one by one to avoid mis-matching wires and make sure to put anti-seize on the new plug threads and di-electric grease on the connections for the new wires. check the old plugs to see how healthy ur engine is. pretty straightforward: blow some compressed air on everything to clear the dirt off so it dont fall in the motor (optional). find a tool and grab the boot of the wire adn yank and twist till it comes off. use a plug socket and spin out the plug. throw the new plugs in carefully so you dont bend the electrode and repeat about 5 more times. couldnt be simpler.
no you dont need ramps. yes, you will likely have to climb on top of the engine bay and reach down in there. g'luck2000 3.8L Camaro A4 Pewter Y87<br />K&N Filter, SLP Ram Air kit, Eibach Pro Kit, Flowmaster 80 series, Silverstars, NGK plugs and MSD Super Conductor Wires, Electric Water Pump

Re: Doing plugs tomorrow
It took me and hour and a half just to get the car on the ramps because I had to use two jacks for each side and then lower the car onto the ramps because If I tried driving up on them it would have scraped off my front end, damn you low car!
I got the passenger side bank done, 2-4-6. O god it hurts...
Leaving the rest for tomorrow.
Why GM WHY??!!!
O and by the way do not use the K member to jack up only one side of your car, only do it in the middle, it will dent if you do it on the sides. Better yet only use the frame.Last edited by Tenom; 06-30-2006, 10:01 PM.
