  • overheating after 5minutes of driving

    hey i was wondering if anyone had this problem this just started yesterday afternoon , i was driving and my tempature gage going backn forth from 260 n- 200 back to 260 . i was thinkin can it be my water pump causing this problem i got around 107XXX odd miles on my 97' 3.8

    it could definetly be water pump, probably is, it is pretty risky to drive around with a blown one.

      o after the problem stared it started happin right by my house n i parked it ...thanx im gonna have it towed to the shop

        A water pump is a pretty easy install, you could save yourself the $$$ and try it yourself.

            yea i replaced it myself cuz the shop wanted $330.00 i was like wtf f**k that ill do it myself lol

              same thing happened to me. IT WAS NOT THE WATER PUMP! it had simply gotten low on coolent. it didn't have enough coolent to keep it below the boiling point. everytime the temp hit 250-260 and droped back to 200 it was the radiator cap letting off pressure, letting even more coolent out.
