  • where to place jack/jackstands!?

    okay wtf on an 01 f-body are you supposed to jack the car up from and place the stands EVERYWHERE i have tried it bends all to ****!!! under the fender was ths worst place to put it! but i have tried all along the side and no where will hold the weight it just bends?? wtf

    NO F*ing doubt, same prob, I just use ramps now, I don't mess around with it. On the back put the jack stands under the axle, so far thats the only safe spot on the car lol. Someone has to know....I am very interested as well.

      i thought in the haynes manual it was supposed to show you where to safely place them also i have stock suspension and i can't make it up ramps... the bumper smacks the ramps..

        on the pieces of frame next to the front tires, and in front of the back tires

          ya, that's the whole reason I bought the Haynes manual....it has come in use though.

            on the front, dont jack on the plastic piece that says "dont jack here" but thats obvious. You can always use 2x4 or something to help keep it from bending/cutting the metal. My haynes has been VERY handy, its worn out, I'd rather have a chiltons though.

              rhino ramps are designed for low profile cars. My FB (stock height) clears no problem. Not sure if they will work once it is lowered.

                the k-member is a good bet, if you look past that little fender thing under the car, you'll see the sub-frame. you can put it on there. also, the suspension is a great place to put it. none of those will bend.
