Ok, I have a 98 Camaro with 82,000 miles on it. 2 days ago my serpentine belt slipped off cuz my tensioner went bad, after putting the belt back on I noticed that my car was overheating. I checked for leaks, didnt find any. I checked the level of my coolant and it was fine. So I turned the car back on and open the radiator cap and noticed that the coolant wasnt "flowing" it was just sitting there. I got a coolant flush like 6 weeks ago, so what do you guys think?? Is it my water pump or should I check something else?
Thanks.

I really doubt it's your water pump. I removed mine recently with 182,000 miles on it and it was in perfect working order. That's a very simple part that doesn't fail as fast as you are describing.
I'd make sure that you have the belt installed correctly. I'm also assuming that you went ahead and replaced the tensioner. But if you didn't, you need to fix that too.
I bet the thermostat is bad. If it doesn't open water will not circulate. Try replacing that first. If you water pump is not leaking and you don't hear whine from it, the pump is most likely fine.
on my 96, mine went bad last summer. bearing went bad causing a whine and it was starting to leak. this has nothing to do with the topic, but i had to replace the water pump and alternator at the sametime. both went out on me almost at the same time

@ 32k miles my water pump was all corroded.
When the engine gets hot, touch the radiator hose that connects to the thermostat housing. That will let you know if the thermo is bad.

Can someone point me in the direction of the radiator hose that connects to my thermo. I just wanna make sure I got the right one. So do I check if the coolant is running thru the hose?

The big hose that connects to the top of the radiator on the drivers side is the one your looking for. Where it connects to the engine is where the thermostat is.

I would agree that your water pump is probably not the problem. I would definitly change out the thermostat, which is an easy change out. A haynes or chilton book would help. Other things to check are that you do not have air in the system. That can be checked through the bleed valve located by the thermo housing. Don't unscrew the screw too far. If air comes out you want to let the air out until coolant starts to come out then close it. If these 2 things don't fix it, I would start to look at your radiator. I went through overheating problems for 2 years replacing all hoses, thermo (twice) and my waterpump, only too find out last week that my radiator was way clogged. Don't go to a Firestone type place to get your radiator checked. Pull it out and take it to a professional radiator repair shop. 2 weeks after Firestone flushed mine for $80 and said mine was ok, the guy at my rad shop showed me how clogged mine was. I replaced mine and have absolutly no more over heating probs at all. Hope this helps.
Haven’t done anything on the Camaro, but put LEDs on my truck headlights . And my oil pressure sensor went out on the truck so going to fix that this...
