  • ABS INOP Light

    past few days....at random my ABS INOP light will come on and stay on till i turn the car off then back on...then the light goes out...then eventually light will come back on....anybody had this problem? whats up?

    The relay points my be going bad and not making good connections, replace the relay, see what happens.

      relay? sounds like a shot in the dark to me.

        have you been spinning the tires?

          i just know if i pull my relay out, the lights come on.

            No burnouts....owned my car for 5 years only done 2 of those..dont like to spin tires spinning=loss of time.....where would this shot in the dark relay be located??

              Pull the wheels sensors and clean them off, especailly the rear one, might have a build up of metal shavings and getting false readins.



              Also any chance you have mismatched wheel sizes(like vette wheels? )

                  I think you will need to hit up a mechanic or the dealer to get the ABS computer codes pulled. Pretty sure parts stores don't have anything to view those.

                          because if the third break light has a short,burnt bulb or a bad connection it will set the abs inop light for some reason. ive had it happen probably 10 times on my fbods.

                            wow...ok....its not a constant thing though...it goes out sometimes....but anyway...just checked it and the 3rd break light works...thanks anways.
