i just did that. heres some advice! those are hot wires so all you gotta do is ground them. i tried to put a switch in there with an LED and it wont light up because of it. to make sure that you got the right wires, shave some insulation off and connect a test wire to the negative battery. if the fan turns on you got the right wire. also, you'll almost never use the fan manually unless you're waiting in staging lanes and have a lower thermostat...

the problem with a lot of do it yourself setups is if you forget to cut it off it will kill your battery. with the SLP kit the fans don't run when the key isn't in it. but if someone has a write up for one like the SLP one go for it.

Eh just have to run an extra relay through your accesory, so unless accesory is powered you don't have the connection. Pretty simple as long as you know how to wire a relay.. Erm I have to do mine the right way one of these days, right now its just wired solid on all the time. Maybe when I take a bit to do that I'll make a writeup for it.

The SLP does run when your car is off. The only real advantage is it plugs in easily and clean.
I have the slp fan switch, I think it is overpriced but it is really easy to install. Just got to remember to turn it off because I have ran my battery dead a few times.
What about getting push button switches that dont click on but you have to keep pressure on them for it to be on? anyone try something like that? itd kinda be an idiot proof way to prevent killing ur battery.

Sweet idea, but I don't think I want to keep holding a button down to keep the fan on.
haha seat idea would be cool. i just decided to go for a lightup toggle switch. im having trouble moving the computer to get to the hole in the firewall tho
on my fan switch if i have the switch on low both fans run on low. but heres the problem...If i have the switch on high only the drivers side fan runs on high. If i put both wires to ground "in other words high and low at the same time" i get both my fans on high. or if my a/c is on "fans running in low speed" and i put the switch on high i can get both fans on high. but with the switch on high and the a/c off only the one fan runs.
