Have you gotten a chance to measure your fuel economy in your 3.8 s10?

Of course, I am getting around 21-22 mpg with 373 and 26" tires. I think that is pretty good, but it would be a little better if my headers didnt leak and cause it to run rich.

Is that 21-21 mpg mostly around town?

I would say its more highway, but I go around 75-80 with 3.73 and 26" tires. My rpms are very high, if I drove 60-65, I would get better milage, but would also get run off the road.

I looked back through this thread and could not find what tranny you are using in your 3.8 S10. What other things can you tell me about it. If you had it to do over would you still use the 3.8? That 14.374 qtr sounds pretty good.

I am using a complete 96 camaro drivetrain with 4L60E tranny. The 3800 is my favorite engine, so I would def use it again.

I had a problem with the wiring, but it really wasnt bad at all. I just didnt know what I was doing.

Its quick, I ran a 14.37 on drag tires and 14.8 on street tires. It has an issue with traction. Ive put 20k miles on it already with no issues.

The more I think about it and talk to you the more I think I should find a way to move the starter. I'm also considering a Cherokee straight axle for the front which might negate the need for relocating the starter. Now I need to find a good 3.8 for a good price around Sacramento.
