  • Cylinder 4 intermittent misfire

Today as I was driving home from work in a driving rain, the car started to run pretty rough when I stopped at red lights. Then the SES light started flashing.

Now, I've noticed before that when it's raining, the car runs rough when idling, but this was the first time the SES light came on.

Anyway, went to Autozone and got it diagnosed. Cylinder 4 misfire.

Earlier this year, I found that Cylinder 3 was misfiring, but only because the wire boot wasn't all the way on the plug. No problem, easy fix, and I'll bet that's why Cylinder 4 is misfiring. The reason I bring this up is because the rain element has me a little worried, in that this problem only manifests itself when it's raining. Anybody got any ideas?

pull all the wires on both ends and put some dialectic grease or whatever it is called. it is basically a cream to seal out water.
