It's designed to do that, so it's normal.

it is programmed into the computer to do that, your car is normal

^^As they said. If you nail the gas, the computer turns off the A/C to deliver more power to the wheels; then as you let off the gas, the A/C will continue.

Your all wrong ! The AC vents do not shut off at WOT, the compressor does and its something you wouldnt even notice. Im not sure what would be turning your AC vent fan off.

hmmm....that is funny cuz I clearly have a spot in my hp tuners to change when it turns off and activates again when accelerating

Yes it shuts the AC compressor off not the vent fan motor.

Uhh I don't know about you but I definitely notice when the compressor gets shut off and I get outside temp air. Especially on those days where the temp hits 100+.

But yeah, normal behaviour. Mainly so the high RPMs don't break the compressor, but also to give you more power.

And by experience I will tell you that this is a great feature ;) I have had the repair bill for replacement before, it's not pretty. Not in an fbody though.

yeah, its normal. don't ever let a ricer tell you that you beat him because he left the AC on by mistake. I have even rat at the track with it on and lost .1 on the run. that can be explain by the split second before the compressor disengages.

no, the reason is because the ac compressor cant handle the high RPM's of the engine

no, the ac compressor cannot handle high rpm's, and it shuts off for that reason.

or, it does in EVERY other car, maby not 4th gen fbodies then.

ok im new here so im not going to get into the whos right and wrong but i know my dads truck (98 ram 1500) was doing the exact same thing with the AC, and it turned out it was a vacume leak. dunno if it helps but i needed to get my first post somewhere!

O btw since im new: 99 camaro, 18 chrome wheels w/ carbon fiber inlays, black projectors, and blue fusion paint and 3-peice spoiler.
