this product... i found it while searching through the internet.... they have it for just about all camaro/firebirds.. (even the 95-97 3.8L that's why i was looking)

    here's a description

    Venom 400 PERFORMANCE CONTROL MODULE
Improves horsepower by as much as 25% throughout 1000 to 5000-RPM power range! Enhances performance gains achieved from installation of an upgraded power chip. Can not harm your vehicle as it operates at standard sensor voltage. Increases throttle response…reduces flat spots or delay time during sudden acceleration OBD II compatible. Easy to install in 20 to 30 minutes with basic hand tools--no modifications to existing electronic components. Can be turned off to ensure smog certification. This add-on module connects to your car's sensors. It incorporates an 8-bit micro-controller that increases engine performance by constantly monitoring the sensors' output characteristics (more than 40 times/second) and modifying the input to your car's existing computer. Performance when you need it...automatically! During normal driving, the Venom 400(tm) is passive. It activates only when the micro-controller "senses" that the engine airflow and throttle position require more performance. When performance demands return to normal, the Venom 400(tm) returns to "sense only" mode. Red LED indicates when the module is activated. Can be turned off with the flip of a switch, restoring performance to original-equipment specifications. Normal fuel economy is maintained. Safe for car's electronics. Will not trigger car's emission safeguards. Works with automatic and manual transmissions.

youll hear everyone say that its a waste of money... which probably means it is. a 25% hp gain is a bit much for less than 300 dollars, dont ya think?

unless doing nitrous on a low hp motor. a 75 shot will "give" me almost 50% more power. but for a chip to do this.....

remeber, it says up to 25% more power. How much work was needed to be done to get this much more power?

Don't get it... I bought one for mine and it did nothing but give me an SES light and make my car drive like crap, ie hard shifting, low low rpms. I havent heard of anyone who has accually had a positive experience with one of these. I did end up making $$$ after I resold it on ebay ;)

So far so good w/ the thermo. The fans do tend to turn on quicker but I will soon be installing a manual switch.

I had one on my car. It did absolutely nothing. I got the dyno chart to prove it.

I think companys that say up to 25% hp gain should get in trouble for false advertisement that is not right misleading people.
