New Firebird V6 Owner

I'm new to this board and not sure if this is proper place for this thread, but here goes anyway. I just purchased a 98 Firebird with 3.8 engine and a 5 speed. It has 126K miles on it and this thing runs like it's got a small block V8 in it. It appears to be bone stock and I don't believe the motor has ever had and major overhaul done on it. I just can't believe a V6 with this many miles on it could run so good. Did I just luck into a good one or is this typical for an F body 3.8?

the gm 3.8 is a very good and reliable motor. we have some members with upwards of 200k on these things. they are excellent motors to say the least.

the 3.8L L36 Series 2 motor is a great motor.. new technology
but GM already has motors out that are smaller(less gas) and produce more hp

It's amazing how quick you get used to the performance. I've only had the car a week and I am already thinking about my first mod. Where is the best place to start - what gives the most bang for the buck when considering the first mod to a stock motor?
