So I made a steel plate to block of the EGR tube on my Pace Setters and J*B welded that sucka on there and was just wondering how long I should wait until I can drive the beast again. I welded it about 7:30 this morning, it sat in the blistering heat (90 farenheit) all day. In the meantime, I cleaned out the whole car, washed, and detailed it. Looks sick, I just want to drive it now !!!

Re: J*B Weld Cure Time ?
you should have taken it to a welder and had that plate welded on. Im not sure if that jb weld will handle the job. the pipes are always expanding and contracting with the heat.http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2245261 Green 1997, 105k, all stock except for Z28 front springs, Air shocks in the rear, home made coolant recovery tank, home made battery hold down.

Oh, and read the instructions for the cure time and try to follow them the best you can. I know it sucks to wait, but it's better than doing a job twice when it could have been done correctly the first time.Last edited by hockeyman; 07-25-2006, 01:59 PM.sigpic

Re: J*B Weld Cure Time ?
headers are hot guys thats the problem, they are the hottest part on the entire car.
doubt it will work...
I had a broken bolt on my EGR vavle on my 3.4L used to set of codes occasionally, so I jbwelded the EGR on, let it cure for 30 hours. Started the car up, let it idle looking for leaks, once the car hit normal operating temps, some of it rolled off like water.
So it lasted about 10 mins in my drivewya without driving it.-Eric
2000 NBM V6 Camaro 5-speed T-top converted
14.467@95.45mph $0 in mods
The member formerly known as MustangEater8251

the intake manifold only gets to like 150F? I'm not 100% sure though.
While the exhaust manifolds/EGR/exhaust valves/CCs get ALOT hotter
What would be better? JB Weld or Epoxy?2k2 camaro, K&N, SLP whisper lid, Konis, AEM, HP Tuners, Angel eyes/Halos, CF SS ram air hood, 4.10s, Zexel Torsen, UMI SFCs, CrossFire, BFGs, Gatorback, Catco, Flows, and TLC! DONT feed the Trolls!
