  • Security Problem! please help

    This is driving me nuts, i cant figure it out.

    I'll start from the beginning

    Security light came on around august time or so...was on for about a month and nothing was wrong, just the light on, and then all of a sudden car wouldnt start..waited a bit, and fired it up and it worked.

    Another month goes by so now its october, now im having problems w/ my car, REALLY wont start..took me 15 try's once over a span of an hour or so.
    I went to get a new key done and wha-la, no problem what so ever, car starts but light is still on. I figured no big deal

    Well now its january and car wont start again!!!!! so i went 2 months w/ the light on and no big deal but now it doesnt start.

    If anyone is familiar w/ the Security system please email me or im me and we can chat about this.

    I also tryed cleaning the key, spraying the ignition w/ can of air to clean it out, disconnecting the battery for about an hour and still no success.

    I installed a few gauges in my car and also manual fan switch (home made) could i have crossed a wire or tapped into the wrong wire? Gauges and fan work so i dont know!

    I noticed from the wiring diagrams the security wire is dark blue and so is the high fan relay wire...could i have tapped the wrong one? but fan works on high and low. I dont know...any suggestions? I really would hate to take apart my ignition to clean it!!! that would be a pain!

    If anyone know's more about this system please email me, this is driving me nuts :mad:

    only thing you can do is undue the changes you made and see if they are the cause of your problem. Troubleshoot it man you can't actually think someone here is going to guess for you. You have to to the hardwork of troubleshooting on your own.

      Your ignition unit may be goin' bad. The security feature cuts power to the engine when it's started with something other than the normal key. Just a thought.

        I know i have to trouble shoot, just wondering if anyone had any idea's or past experiences w/ this.

        Im going to hit this project in the morning :(
