  • ever heard of these chip? do they work

there on ebay claim to add 20-40 hp... there called GORILLAZCHIP and NITRO
3.4....cold air intake, flowmaster, underdrive pullys, 3.42 gears, ngk spark plugs

  • #2
Well if they're chips they won't work. Our computers don't have removable proms. I'd be skeptical about any chip named Gorillaz anyway...

Yeah, I think those are both those cheap type of IAT modifiers. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe they're nothing more than a resistor that adjusts the IAT sensor voltage so that the computer thinks incoming air is colder than it really is. I've heard it might add 1° of timing advance if that. You're probably not going to see or feel a difference.

If you must spend $30 on this type of mod, at least get the SLP version so that you don't have to splice your factory wiring.

Sorry no, I'm not selling anything. Check the For Sale section.

yea funkz you sound correct, its just some resistor thats not gonna do anything. I agree if your gonna do that then go ahead and get the SLP air temp module if you must, it says 5-7hp. I have on one my car but i added it when i added the whisper lid and slp cold air kit and k&n so i couldnt really notice it as a standalone but like i said if it did anything at all its not anything noticeable.

the only real option for a module for our car is the Jet chips. they have a stage 1 and 2 chip. opinions vary on whether or not htey are worth it. I have a stage 2 i might be interested in selling if you want. Hypertech also makes a programmer for our cars. Besides that, there is a custom mail order tune you can get, but i cant recall the company that does it. the custom tune is probably your best option but the most expensive. will give you maybe 10-15 hp and tq... decent gains for our cars...

fastchips.com i think it is that does the custome tune for us but if you going to do that do it after you do all your modding and they can program in new gears and everything so your speedo is off and you will being running the right fuel air ratio. If you are interested i have been trying to sell a jet chip for awhile. I just put it back in my car but if your interested i can take it out again.

Hypertech never made the HPP3 for the 3.4 and good luck finding a working original HPP for it.

A Jet Chip module or Fastchip programming is your best bet.

Phill, 95Drop, what is the Jet part number on your modules? I'd be interested but I want to check with Jet about compatibility.
