  • Royal Purple. Is It Good

well im coming up on another 3000 miles cycle and its time to change my oil.
i was thinking of going royal purple synthetic. but will it really make a difference? i know i can never go back to regular oil so i was wondering of its worth the extra money

if you have done regular oil the whole time I wouldn't switch to royal purple. Royal purple is good for new engines where it is the only oil it will see. Adding it to your engine now will cause you most likely to have leaks because it will find the holes that the regular oil couldn't fit through do to thickness.

I've also been using Royal Purple now for about 30,000 miles on my car and I have no leaks. If you use Royal Purple you don't have to change your oil every 3,000 miles. Its good for at least 5,000 miles.

switched to royal purple at 137k, it was on dino before, no leaks, havent lost a drop in 2k or so, but just keep in mind to run some cheap supertech or whatever synthetic for 500 miles or so beforehand and then change it again to flush out the dino

supertech is wal-marts brand. the super-tech filter say they filter 2x as much as another filter.

victimization's right. you can spend all the money on oil that you want but when it comes down to it, nothing is more important than every 3k. how many people on this board have over 100k and all they did was change the oil? :wavey: just change the oil every 3 and thats all ya need. nitpicking b/w oils is a waste of time.
